Together, Let’s Dethrone Colon Cancer

Colorectal cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in Quebec,
BUT TOGETHER, WE CAN DETHRONE IT!
Let's shatter taboos and talk about early detection to defeat colon cancer.

The Together, Let's Dethrone Colon Cancer campaign encourages all Quebecers between the ages of 50 and 74 to discuss the fecal immunochemical test (FIT) with their family doctor or a doctor/nurse practitioner from a walk-in clinic, and to take the test every two years.

Colorectal cancer has been the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in Quebec for years, with nearly 92% of cases occurring in those over 50 years old. The good news is that we can improve these outcomes through the FIT. The bad news is that despite the fact that this screening test can save and improve lives, a surprising 76% of Quebecers don’t even know it exists.

Now is the time to be proactive so that, together, we can dethrone colon cancer.

Ludovick Bourgeois, porte-parole de la campagne Détrônons le cancer du côlon
"I’ve been raising awareness about colon cancer for the past six years by sharing my story and that of my father, who died too soon because of this disease. This year, I encourage everyone to shatter taboos and get the word out on early detection because together, we can dethrone colon cancer.”
